The gallbladder concentrates and stores bile as a pear-shaped sac which it can release to help digestion after a fatty meal.
The waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) is measured to determine the pattern of obesity in men and women. WHR of more than 0.9 in men and 0.8 in women indicates excess adiposity. WHR has a strong co-relation to the perception of attractiveness between sexes. A ratio of 0.7 for women makes them more appealing to men regardless of their weight. Studies also show that WHR can be used as a measure to assess an individual’s susceptibility to heart attack, general health, and fertility.
