The gallbladder concentrates and stores bile as a pear-shaped sac which it can release to help digestion after a fatty meal.
Medical technologists (MT) chiefly perform clinical laboratory diagnostic analysis. MTs are also known as clinical laboratory scientists (CLS) and clinical laboratory technologists (CLT). MTs are required to hold a four-year bachelor’s degree with a major in medical technology. Specialties that MTs can pursue include microbiology, urinalysis, toxicology, cytogenetics, clinical chemistry, etc. Most MTs are Generalists i.e. they are skilled in all areas of the lab. Complete blood count, liver function test, prothrombin time, and activated partial thromboplastin time are some of the common tests performed by medical technologists.
