Bulimia is a disorder related to eating in which the subject experiences bouts of binge eating succeeded by depression and guilt. The subject can try to induce vomiting to negate the effects of the binge eating. A patient suffering from bulimia can be harsh in self-evaluation regarding body shape and weight. Bulimia can continue over the lifetime of an individual since the symptoms are hard to detect and the patients try to hide information because of the shame associated with the disease.
