Research
Surgical research requires a multifaceted developmental approach that stretches across multiple specialties and sometimes into industry. The surgical industry is dependent on technological advancement and therefore one that is continually evolving and progressing. Collaboration is most important as different perspectives and resources allow creative solutions to problems.
Surgeons from each of their respective divisions come together in the lab to combine their knowledge from thoracic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery, robotic surgery and others to perform research and experiments. Additional participation with basic science researchers allow for further collaborations of expertise.
